Uncle Aaron
What a unique man. He was more than an uncle. He was a father figure, big brother and friend, all rolled into one. Aaron would give his last dollar to help someone out. He had a fantastic sense of humor and charisma that people of all ages enjoyed. He was a natural comedian with zany antics, and one never knew what he was going to do next. You definitely had to expect the unexpected with him. However, there were so many fun times we all experienced and to this day still say, remember when Aaron….

Aaron was old-school, definitely a gentleman. He treated family and friends with the utmost respect. When I worked a second shift job, getting off at midnight, he would be waiting at the bus stop for me and my co-worker. We never knew when he would show up, he was just there. He would ride the bus with us, make sure my co-worker transferred safely to a second bus, and then escorted me to my apartment building. He would then turn around and go home. You could tell Aaron anything. He was not judgmental. He always said to me, “just be you”. Sometime he would laugh at you, and then you ended up laughing at yourself.

Aaron also, surprisingly, could sing opera, which he would sing when one wasn’t expecting it. He told me no matter how bad things get in life, “don’t look back; don’t trust anybody, not even me”. He has certainly left an impression on us that we will never forget. We are all fortunate to have had him in our lives. To say he will be missed is an understatement. Charlotte DeVeaux, niece.

Aaron was an amazing man, and the greatest and best God father. When ever I called he would always come. I have so many memories, but my two fondest are when he took me to the circus and he knew I was too tired to walk from the train station in Parkchester and we lived on Leland Avenue and he put me on his shoulders and sang one of his many made up songs. My other memory was for one of my birthdays he gave me a box with a girl (that was suppose to be me) drawn on the top and inside there was a beautiful purple summer dress, popcorn, quarters and pom poms. I did not pay attention to anything but the pom poms - he knew how bad I wanted them. If you ask my mom those pom poms were everything to me.

He always made me feel so special. He would always say he did not want any other god children because I was he loved me so much. Aaron, thank you for always making feel so loved and allowing me to be your only child.

To the family - May the Lord, give you peace and comfort, but know that he is in the arms of the Lord, and we will see him again.
